What is Tornado Alley?

Tornado alley is the land in central United States that is main area of where tornados form.  The Great Planes provide a flat surface for tornados and the cool air from Canada meets the warm air from the Gulf of Mexico.  It is home to more than 200 tornadoes annually, stretches from northwest Texas, across Okalahoma and through northeast Kansas.
