Tasks and Process

Students are required to complete a couple of tasks. The first task will consist of group work while the other one will be an individual assignment.

Group Activity:

1. Students will be divided into groups of five. Each group needs to come up with a slogan, campaign or song stating why the United States should remain neutral or the opposing view, why the United States should enter the war. This needs to be displayed on a standard size poster board and presented to the class. Posters are expected to be neat and legible. Feel free to get creative!

2. Students will be divided into groups of three. You and your group mates and required to create a web or an outline stating the causes for World War One. Students are asked to look beyond the text book and provide information telling who or what events lead up to those causes.

Individual Assignment:

As our unit on World War One comes to a wrap, each student is asked to complete a mini research paper. This should be a well written 3 page paper. The paper will explore what life was like immediately after the war. Students have the choice to write on either: men, women or family roles after the war -or- advancements (this could be music, art, sports, technology, inventions etc.). Students are required to  submit rough draft for review and corrective feedback. Students are also expected to have a minimum of two books and one online source.

* I will provide a list of online resources you can use for any or all of the three assignments. Click on the resource link below and you are well on you way.
