Project Overview and Self-Evaluation

The project focused on how what Relics represent. I chose three major religious relics, The Ark of the Covenant, The Holy Grail, and Thesues’ body. I first talked about the myths and legends that each one of these relics posses then I focus on why these relics are important and why relics are important in general.  I used the resources I have collected from inter-library loans. I wanted well credit and well liked books. I used Amazon.com to help me find well credited books about the Ark, the Grail, and Thesues. I also wanted them to be as recent as possible. I wanted to know what Theologians are saying about the Grail now not twenty years ago. Even though I did use some later work, but I wanted to stay on top with the latest findings and stay as current as one can.

For my resources I made sure that they were constant with each other. When inconstancies occurred I tried to address them with the internet or I would briefly mention about the problem. I made sure I tried to stick to as many facts as I could. I realized how difficult that was, since there was so few facts. This also allowed me to add my own hypotheses to these things on which myth was more factual.  I also wanted to have a good core group of different kind of resources, it might seem like I favored the books more than one and gave lip serves to another. I say that is simply untrue. The websites I have found were of great quality especially the one focused on the Ancient religion aspect of the project.

I feel that I have only met the goals of the projects. I wanted to exceed them. But due to other school pressures and the end of the year approaching hurt the final part of the product. I wanted originally to have another twenty minutes worth of footage, ten of that bloopers. But like most films not everything makes the cut. I feel what I have turn it is a very good representation of what I learned and researched. I enjoy using movie clips as it is clear from my last film.  I particularly like the part where I am addressing the Ark and the movie is playing. I couldn’t have completed this project with out much help from my director and editor Holly Boothe. The project couldn’t have been a success without her. She deserves most of the praise; she was also the one to help me complete my last film.
