Reaction to Cultist.
Before Easter break our ISSI class had a demonstration on what it was like to be in the cult of Demeter. We tried to make it as authentic as possible. We had hecklers, chanting, sacrifices of shoes, and me the leader (of course who else would it be). We marched down to Wallace and I in noble fashion congratulated them on there journey. Saying it represented the long journey Demeter went through after losing her daughter to Hades. I offered grain and wine to the couple that was getting married before our gods under the pillars of Wallace Hall. In joyful cerebration we cheered. So what were we emulating… Well we just wanted to understand what it could have been like. I understand the importance of symbolism in ritualistic ceremonies being in a Fraternity. I guess it was a way non college Greeks could understand what it is like being in a Fraternity, since that was a hot issue when we came to this subject. So for a moment we were in our own little frat.
