IN THE MEDIA CENTER
Step One:  Choose a Spanish-speaking country of Central or South America!

Step Two: Now that you’ve chosen your country, start exploring it! What’s the weather like? What is there to do? Are there museums to visit? Or beaches or national parks? What can you get to eat at the local restaurants? What are things the locals do? What else can you think of???To get started, click on the link for your country on the Resources page.  Be sure to keep a running list of your resources for a works cited page.  You will get two class periods in the media center to find out as much as you can about your country
{Remember – the more you find out, the more you’ll have to work with later on ;-) }

IN CLASS
Step Three: Go through all of your research. Think about what you want to see, do, eat, etc.

Step Four: Using all of your new information, pretend that you’ve already gone on your wonderful vacation! Write a diary entry for everyday of your 7-day vacation. Let me know how the weather was, what you did/visited, what you ate, and anything else you want to remember about your vacation. Write your diary entries in English.

Step Five: Translate your diary entries to Spanish. Make sure your verbs are in the preterit tense. If there are any words you do not know, look it up in a Spanish-English dictionary. You will have 3-4 class periods to work on your diary entries. As you work, I will visit you at least twice to check on your progress, answer any questions, and help you edit your writing.

Step Six: Now you are ready to start putting together a finish product.  Write out you diary entries, free of spelling and grammatical errors. Add pictures, so you have memories of your vacation.

Step Seven: Share your vacation will your classmates! Read your diary entries to the class. After you have shared your diary, turn it in to me.
