The temperate forest is also known as the deciduous forest. The most important characteristic of Temperate forests is the four distinct seasons that is has.  The summers in a deciduous forest are seasonably warm and the winters are seasonably cold.  in Autumn the leaves on the trees in the deciduous forest change colors to brilliant reds, oranges and yellows and then eventually fall off allowing the trees to survive the cold winter. The animals of the deciduous forest also have means of adapting to survive through winter.  For more on temperate forests visit the links on my homepage.
