A.  An introductory essay of approximately 500 to 750 words that will be assigned during the first
week of class.

B.  An autobiographical essay entitled This I Believe (500 words) and two formal 750-1250 word thesis-focused essays (liberal arts and the professions essay and exemplary lives essay).

C.  Informal writing exercises every week. You will be expected to write between 500-1000 words
weekly in a variety of assignments including responses to convocations.

D.  A library-based research experience

E.  A comprehensive final exam.
