Monday:        Reading: Ch 1 & 2 (1-34).

Class: Introduction to the genre of biography and Nuland’s project.

*Formal paper 1 (on Obama) due in class.                 

 

Tuesday:        Convocation. Mr. Drew Bauer, President & CEO of Southwest Bank. Title: “The Economics of Baseball.” [OPTIONAL]

 

Wednesday:  Reading: Ch 3 & 4 (35-83).  Class discussion. Quiz on the reading.

 

Thursday:       Reading: Ch 5 (84-100). Quiz on the reading. 

Informal writing due in class. Topic: What is exemplary about Leonardo da Vinci?.

Biographical paper assignment distributed.

 

Week 5 September 26th-30th

 

Monday:        Reading Ch 6 (101-18).

Library Workshop on Research. Meet in Hewes Library lobby.

 

Tuesday:        No convocation this week.  

 

Wednesday:  Reading: Ch 7 (119-140).
